Ralph and Jack’s personalities clash with each other while they both try to become the primary leader. Ralph is compassionate, mature, patient, considerate, and committed. Jack’s personalities include being selfish, cruel, impatient, strong-willed, and “savage-like.” Ralph represents order, civilization, and leadership. Jack’s primly is for violence, power, and savagery. In the story Ralph is elected the leader and is able to convince the boys to do things at first.
