Harry Bone English 10.11/03 College Essay Tell us a story about yourself that will help us to know you better. Illustrate one or more themes, events or individuals that have shaped you. Be clear and forceful. It is ironic that the same qualities that can put you on top or characterize you as a leader can also lead to hurt and anxiety. I guess I did not realize that my natural tendency to lead, excel and stand out might, at times, be at the cost of the feelings of others. Although my assertive personality has helped me attain a lot of goals, I may have missed some lessons in diplomacy and discretion along the way, I am learning the hard way that not everyone appreciates my confident nature and that I need to know my audience and adjust accordingly. Sometimes I can get so caught up in the moment that I become blinded to the others around me.
