Z for Zacharia Ann was a young woman who is left behind after an atomic war in the U.S.A. She lives in a deep valley that is unaffected by the atomic bomb. Her family has left the house to look for survivors and leaves Ann at home supposedly with her step brother. Unfortunately, her step brother hides in the back of the truck as the family leaves. They are never to return. Ann is left to fend for herself. She spends many months alone. She depends on the family farm to survive. The cows give milk, the chickens give eggs, the garden is growing and producing produce and the little country store up the road gives the other items that Ann needs to survive.
