When it comes to buying things whether it be clothes, food, or games, people are often found buying things that are name brand. You might ask yourself, why? The reason being is that people figure that they know what they are buying and that there are no surprises, unlike when you buy generic brands where there is usually something to it. In reality, people are buying name brand things because they figure one, they’re better quality, two, the name brands are known and three, people may deny it but its also because everyone else is buying them as well. People buying merchandise that are name brand are usually looking for quality in their purchase. For example, when people see a shirt for $4.99 (generic brand) and right next to it is a about the same designed shirt but it is a name brand for $9.99, they are going to go for the name brand one, because they think that it has better quality to it. Which is a very valid reason. Most of the time named brand shirts are made with better quality since the company has the money to invest in better quality. Unlike the generic brand companies, which don’t really have that kind of money to spend more time on quality that gives the same or enhanced quality as the named brands’ do. That giving the name brands the upper hand in retail. Then there is the fact that the designs on the name brand shirts are much different to the generic ones.
