Locke’s Innate Principle
If a survey was conducted at random and subjects were asked the following question, “Do you believe that there are certain principles that are universally agreed upon by all? ... Upon a careful expansion of this observation, under the microscope of John Locke’s examination, one can objectively reveal the dilemma presented by this idea of “innateness,” underlined and fundamentally characterized in a rationalist’s view of the mechanisms of the human mind. Beginning with this demonstration as a premise, I will evaluate how Locke attempts to clarify the origination of ideas, and the fashion understanding is developed by the means of these innate ideas.
