... ) After reviewing my list of Joseph Campells characteristics of a hero, I sat down and thought long and hard about what he said, and there was only one that I don’t quite agree. Campells says “ A hero’s journey is usually a cycle, a going and returning, leaving one condition and finding the source of life to bring fourth into a richer or mature condition”. ... IN theory these men did not complete the hero’s journey, but realistically, they were heroes. Keeping in mind that Campbell’s characteristics of a hero were based on mythological poems from ancient times often subject to stereotypes and misinterpretations. ... Campbell’s Definition of a hero still works in today’s society, but is seen in a deferent way. ... ) To some people, Muhamid Ali is just an athlete, but to others, he is a hero. ... I think Muhamid Ali is a great example of a hero, because of the fact that he was not well like.
