i'm screwed because my 8 page essay is due tomorrow and i barely have anything written. i'm looking online to see if i can find someone else's essay to see what their argument is. i need an argument. what's the assignment? i don't even know really i'm writing about this artist, and i have to evaluate how other people write about him like articles written about him. books written about him.... i need to identify these critical practices, such as formal or theoretical on informal on commercial. notice what is NOT written about the artist as well, such as (hidden) agendas of race, gender, sexuality embedded in the writing. Are women who are artists created into artistic "heors"? Are men discussed in terms of their gender? Is the art of a white person critiqued through concept of color? Is a "straight" artist discussed in terms of his/her sexuality or is this discourse often reserved for gay artists. what are the stragities and theoretical perspectives that the different writers used? For example, did the writerr interview the artist or did the writer perfer to use a theoretical perspective, such as queer theory, when discussing the artists and/or his/her art? How do these differing points of view co-exist and vie with one onother within the discourse of the artist? blah blah...ya. this is what everyone has to write aobut and again to make it longer.
