The significance of the folklore in the short story and novel “Their eyes were watching God” is that Zora Neale Hurston focuses on one to express her or himself. I believe that she started a style for future writer to broaden their imagination to new things verses sticking with the traditional. In Zoras’ writing she implements the style of escapism , imagery, and hyperbole. I believe that she was the foundation to what is known as expressism. B. I chose three people to represent Alain Locke’s essay “ The New Negro” The first Person is Sojourner Truth: She did not care what people thought of her and her mouth, she spoke what ever she was outspoken and that changed her life.
