The War in Southern Sudan
Ruled jointly by the British and Egypt from 1899 to 1956, Sudan a parliamentary republic is the largest country in Africa consisting of almost one million miles in area. Since 1956, Sudan has been ruled by unstable and military governments and has been in the state of civil war with widespread human rights abuse.
