Violence plays a major role in our imagination, and I think this has to do with the fear installed in us by the media. ... The news makes it seem as if violence is the only thing that takes place in our society. A great example of how fear is installed by the media is the recent panic among people in the area over the hurricane that wasn’t. People ran to grocery stores and schools were closed, because the media said that a horrible hurricane was coming and we would be locked in our homes for days, and what ended up happening?
