John Proctor is honorable
In the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller, John Proctor shows the characteristics of an honorable man, worthy of esteem and respect from the Salem residents. One must look at the whole man to find out if they truly show the quality of honor, which John Proctor obviously does upon close evaluation. Proctor’s honorability comes out during the trial when he gives up himself to try and stop the madness and when he refuses to give a false confession. John Proctor’s first act showing honor comes when Proctor gives up his own pride to try and stop the witch trials from getting out of hand.
