Capitalism: is the social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned. (Rand cu1, pg19) The goal of my speech today is not to merely convince you but to show you with use of rational arguments, why capitalism is the right system and why it should be fostered by all nations that hold individual rights above all else. Before I present my case to you, I would like to say that it is only through your own rational convictions that will enable you to consider this side of the coin, which has often been branded as the root cause of all evil, all poverty and above all the creator of cut throat business. Full understanding of capitalism requires a full understanding of the nature of man, of his need for material and spiritual values, of trade, and of the money as the symbol of productive value.
