The car is the curse of the twentieth century. Cars are one of the most important inventions in twentieth century. They have a profound effect on society and make people¡¯s life more convenient and comfortable. However, health problem, global warming and energy crisis caused by cars have become human tremendous disasters. With no doubt, the car is the curse of the twentieth century. First of all, air pollution by cars causes human health problems. Emissions from cars contribute to many irretrievable diseases such as lung cancer and respiratory diseases. For example, as the research by the World Health Organization indicates, there are about 2,100,000 people who die from lung caner and around 300,000 children who suffer from bronchial disease because of the emissions from cars every year in the world.
