During the 1700’s, colonists from England came to America and settled in.From America, ships traveled to different trade routes and gave each other merchandise needed to survive. This was called the Triangle Trade. The ships used for the Triangle Trade had many trade routes. Some went directly to England and others went to the West Indies, Africa, then to England. It was called “Triangle Trade” since the routes were triangular shaped. One method of trading was they took meat products to the West Indies, which were traded for sugar products. Sugar was traded for rum, and rum for slaves.
