Julius Caesar

In the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Brutus is the true hero because he killed Caesar for the good of Rome. ... Caesar was a dictator, and Brutus was one of the few that actually understood that. ... Caesar was ambitious and would’ve eventually become a complete tyrant. The citizens of Rome did not understand that they would have eventually all become Caesar’s slaves, but Brutus did, and he acted out of patriotism and honor.

The first way in which Brutus was a hero is that he joined the conspirators for the good of Rome, rather than envy of Caesar. He displayed this altruism when he said in his speech, “Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more (Act 3, Scene 2).
