yeah For my comparative analysis, I chose to study the Depiction of women in European art in the 1400-1500 time period, as well as, 1800-1930 time periods. These two time periods depict women in very different ways. Tiziano, an Italian artist from 1485-1576 showed a woman lying in a bed, naked, and her breasts showing. She was wearing earrings, and had short, curly, blond hair. There was a tiny dog next to her, perhaps symbolizing purity. The woman’s face expression showed her deeming pleasure, reddish-brown color of the women’s feminine parts, holding on tightly to the white satin-like bed sheets. There was a face drawn in the clouds, spitting out genitals, which was portrayed very subtle yet sexual. This tended to signify and celebrate male heterosexual desire through the paintings. The reddish-brown color of the women’s feminine parts draws a lot of attention to her sexuality. The woman’s hair, lips, nipples, contain the dark red color while the rest of her skin had a pale peach appearance. In this painting, the strategically placed red color symbolizes men’s erotic thoughts and desires, and their observations in a naked woman.
