In 1808, Lord George Gordon Byron published one of his most famous poems, “When We Two Parted,” This poem is a story about two parted lovers, where one deliberately left the other. Why did they part? The reader does not know. What the reader does learn is that the man whose heart has been broken cannot let go of the relationship, and dwells on the way he still feels. Byron describes his true emotions in the poem by discussing the silence, deception, and, tears, which lead to the downfall. There are limitless moments in life when people feel that they have won and lost at love. One particular moment that will affect me for the rest of my life was the day silence and deception affected my relationship with someone who was very close to my heart. It started out as innocent, pure devotion to one other but eventually withered away. I came to find out that feelings change whether it for the good or the bad. At the same time, I realize my feelings were changing a little more every day. I grew up in a little suburb outside of Houston. My parents expected me to uphold the highest ideals of Christian womanhood. My life was simple. I had no boyfriend, my priorities were straight it was family, school and friends. I was carefree and happy. Many of the boys I had dated in the past had caused way too much drama. Then suddenly my love life was headed down a road of heart break and pain, which I wish I could have avoided. Towards the end of my senior year I met a boy, and I got back into the routine of having a boyfriend.
