The scene that was used for this analysis is taken from JAWS (1975), when Chrissie (Susan Backlinie), a girl in the beach party decides to go for a swim when a guy (anonymous) chases after her, we see them both in a long shot running across the screen. Then a long shot of their silhouette are shown running across the beach while taking their clothes off. The director uses this technique to create the effect of dawn rising. It is essential that the audience watches this whole scene from a third person point of view so they are able to see everything that is going on at the moment. The camera constantly interchanging between close and full shots of both characters to show what each character is doing, for example, first we see a close shot of Chrissie in the water swimming-appearing to be happy, and then the camera jumps back to a full shot of the guy still trying to get his clothes off.
