Since 1993/94 I have been involved in some aspect of teaching, for two years I assisted part-time with a playgroup in Enniskillen which gave me a good insight into child development. I also taught a variety of subjects to adults which included; Stress Management, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Personal Development and Clait I and II. I enjoyed this immensely and it was through this that I decided I to pursue a career in teaching. I established a homework group for a local charity in Enniskillen which specifically targeted disaffected and underprivileged children and which, according to their teachers greatly assisted in their literacy and numeracy skills. During my first teaching practice at Our Lady of Lourdes, Ballymoney, I taught History and Religion to Key Stage 3 level, and assisted with an English/Drama group. To cater for a range of pupil needs and requirements including those with SEN I found it necessary to carefully plan and prepare diverse and differentiated lessons.
