GE dominates at least a dozen different global markets making it a 130 billion-a-year company. GE’s revenues in previous years have gone up and down but the earnings have continued to rise. Consolidated revenues for 2002 were $13.7 billion with a record breaking net earning of $15.1 billion before accounting changes and $14.1 billion after such changes. Revenues in 2002 increased 5% from 2001 total of $125.9 billion with net earnings of $13.7 billion. 2001 revenues decreased 3% from $129.9 billion in 2000 with net earnings of $12.7 billion. GE’s total assets are $575 billion. The company’s market value is $256 billion. GE owners have approved nine stock splits bringing the total of shares to 9.947 billion with four million share owners. The latest stock split approved was a three for one split in April 2000. To demonstrate the magnitude of the stock splits GE has approved, one GE share purchased before 1926 is now worth 4608 shares.
