... In the beginning of the play, Topsy refers to herself as a fool, she states:
Have yaw ever been to a party where there was one fool in the middle of the room, dancing harder and yelling louder than everybody in the entire place? ... " Later Topsy describes the famous party that she attended, which was located "way-way-way-way-way-way-way-way uptown. ...
The famous people at the party consisted of prominent figures, radicals, and successful entertainers, dead and alive, who have helped shaped America into what it is today. This famous party is being satirized because some of the participants are doing ridiculous things. ... " All of the people at the party attempted to bring out some type of change whether was for black civil rights or allowing black entertainers to be put in public view. So this is a revolutionary party is being satirized because sometimes revolutionists are viewed as ludicrous.
