Personal Background & Circumstances of Applicant The Applicant is an Iranian national who is 19 years of age (evidenced by both statutory declaration and verification by Iranian authorities) and is a practising homosexual (a letter from a clinical psychologist is attached to this submission indicating the belief that the Applicant is in fact a homosexual). He had relationship with another man in Iran immediately prior to leaving that country. The Applicant has been domiciled approximately 150 kilometres outside of Tehran in a small rural Iranian village his entire life. He had lived his family who are practicing Shia Muslim and who have shunned him on the basis of his sexual orientation.
