Attended Atlanta University for thirteen years. 1. Du Bois wrote and studied negro morality, urbanization, negroes in business, college-bred negroes, the negro church, and negroe crime. 2. Broadly trained in the social sciences. E. First ever African American to receive a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1896. F. Later became one of America's social activists, scholars and writers.
