Is Abortion Morally Right?
Abortion is is "to terminate a pregnancy" and it is often looked upon as a moral dilemma as no-one can be sure whether it is morally right or not. There are many different opinions and although in a perfect world abortion is definitely immoral, but this world is not perfect so there are many relative moralities.
Although Christians believe in the sanctity of life they cannot agree on whether abortion is morally right. In fact No religion actively supports abortion, but some religions accept that there are situations when abortion may be necessary.
Roman Catholics and other Orthodox churches believe that abortion is wrong in any circumstances. ... The Roman Catholic church says that anyone who commits the sin of abortion will lose contact with God and the church. Pope John Paul II said in his letter combating abortion on the nineteenth of May 1991 "The Roman Catholic Church tends not only to reaffirm the right to life-the violation of which is an offence against the human person and against God the Creator and Father the loving source of all life-but she also intends to devote herself ever more fully to concrete defence on the promotion of this right". Even so the Roman Catholic Church does preach "an attitude of love and support, not condemnation, for those who have had an abortion".
