Technological innovation has become an important factor in growing modern day industry. Advances in technology cause organisations to continually keep up to date with these innovations in order to gain opportunities and remain in the competitive field. Many of these changes in technology cause various advantages and disadvantages towards the organization as a whole and to individuals. But have these positive and negative outcomes been both exaggerated and underestimated; and does this effect technological innovation within an organization? In this essay I aim to show that the affects of technological changes on work organizations and individuals’ jobs are often both exaggerated and underestimated which can affect the way in which managers implement new technology.
