CNN) -- Residents in Bermuda should keep an eye on Hurricane Fabian, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Wednesday, but the powerful storm isn't expected to pass near the island until early Saturday. The Category Four hurricane continued its slow northern trek in the eastern Caribbean, bringing rain and elevated tides but little else to Puerto Rico and neighboring islands. At 5 a.m. ET, Fabian held strong with maximum sustained winds near 135 mph (215 kph). Forecasters warned that fluctuations in the storm's strength would be common over the next 24 hours.
