"It's better to have loved and lost, then to have never loved at all." The word love in that sentence has a more defining definition then is considered. In order to understand love, people must critically examine it and integrate it into your own true feelings. The word love has more meaning and significance far beyond its simple, lexical definition. I chose to use the word love because to me, love is a sign of compassion for something far greater then words can ever express. In my opinion, most individuals, whether male or female, choose to emulate this word into something it does not stand for. Love is a term for only the highest and most sincere feelings towards a person. It is the certain connotations in which people use love that can have many levels of consensus. The word love can have multiple meanings. The lexical definition of love states; a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness. I completely agree with this definition as a hasty generalization. In my opinion, it is up to the subject who is using the word and in what context they use it in that gives it meaning. In an interview on MTV with P. Diddy, he states, "I love my fans and could not be where I am today without them?" This assumption is very true, he could not be where he is today without his fans buying his records and going to his concerts. Where this statement is incorrect is in the first four words.
