Today, almost everyone is touched by virtual work, that is to say that we are receiving work by means never dreamed off before. ... Types of Virtual Teams
Just like with any organizational structure, there are various types of Virtual Teams. Below list three of the most common types:
o Executive teams - Teams made up of managers who are on the team because of their position in the organization. These teams are usually semi-permanent teams with responsibility for specific divisions or functions in the organization.
o Project teams - Teams created around a specific task. ... These teams are created for the life of the project.
o Community of practice teams - Team of support people who are working on common tasks or in the same professional field and who can benefit from sharing experience. Membership on these teams is voluntary. These teams dont usually have specific deliverables but instead are focused on learning. Whether you are meeting face-to-face or using some other media to connect, you can use familiar facilitation strategies to develop a shared understanding and commitment to the teams purpose.
