The topic of the internet articles I chose to review is organizational culture. Corporate Culture/Organizational Culture: Understanding and Assessment, Cultural Evolution, and Organizational Culture discuss the assessment, understanding and nurturing of corporate culture.
Organizational culture consists of the values that its members, leaders, and employees bring to the work environment. ... Culture is very powerful; it drives the organization and its actions. An organization’s culture is what influences how leaders and other employees function. ...
It is important that an organization have a clear understanding of what their “real” culture actually is. All authors agree that understanding the true culture can mean the difference between success and failure. Duffy warns companies ignore the importance of culture at their peril. If the organization wants to maximize its ability to attain its strategic objectives, it must understand if the prevailing culture supports and drives the actions necessary to achieve its strategic goals (Hagberg & Heifetz, 2000)
It is often easiest for an outsider to judge and see the true culture, not those who operate within the culture.
