Many questions were passing through my mind while reading the first six chapters of Fight Club. Marla Singer and Tyler Durden seem to play important but yet confusing roles in chapter one through six. What is the importance of Tyler and Marla and why are different feelings thrown around about these characters? And what role will Insomnia play in this novel? Some of these issues could turn out to be irrelevant and others could examine the main theme behind the story but no matter what the importance, these questions still pose problems while reading. In the beginning of the novel, Tyler Durden is shoving a gun down the narrator’s mouth. Then as the story progresses Tyler is viewed as a friend not someone motivated to kill.
