Dashboard Confessional is an acoustic punk rock band from Southern Florida. The band consists of Chris Carrabba (singer / songwriter / lead guitarist) backed by Dan Bonebrake on bass, Mike Marsh on drums, and occasionally Jolie Lindholm with backup vocals. (CD Liner Notes – “The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most,” 2001) They have been playing together for about four years. In this time, they have released three EP singles and four LP albums. (http://www.dashboardconfessional.com/) The LP “The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most,” released March 20, 2001 contained the track “The Good Fight,” which I believe is a piece of literature worth analyzing. The song can have powerful meaning for anyone who has ever seen a dream crumble to pieces before his or her eyes. The first and most prominent note about the song is that it is incredibly vague. In this case, however, vague is not necessarily a bad thing.
