12 Angry Men 1. Task Dimension 1. A teenager has been accused of murdering his father. In the very beginning of the movie the judge discussed what needed to be done. He told the jurors that they needed to separate fact from fancy and the verdict had to be unanimous. 2. After voting for the first time, Juror #7 said, “What do we do now?” In reply Juror #8 said, “We talk.” As a result the jurors go on debating why the boy is guilty and Juror #8 said they cannot just vote him guilty and said they needed time to talk about the facts. 2. Cultural Diversity 1. Juror #8 talked about how murders do not yell out, “I’m going to kill you” before they kill someone. Juror #8 said, “Right, he’s a common ignorant slob, he don’t even speak good English.” In reply Juror #11, which is European said, “He doesn’t even speak good English.” 2. Juror #11 sited everyone down to start another vote and to calm the jurors down. Juror #11 said, “I beg pardon.” And Juror #8 said, “Beg pardon, what are talking about?” In reply Juror #11 said, “That’s how I was brought up.” 3. Fantasy 1. The first time the jurors voted, Juror #1 gathered everyone together. He wanted to get the verdict done as fast as possible because he said there was a baseball game later on that night. 2. While Juror #8 was talking about how long an Elevator train took to pass a given point, Juror #3 and Juror #12 played tic-tac-toe. 4. Group Roles 1. In the beginning when they first voted on the case, all the jurors voted guilty, besides Juror #8 voted not guilty. By him voting not guilty he caused the jurors to interact amongst each other. Also Juror #8 said the kid is only 18 and said you cannot come up with a verdict in five minutes. This conflict caused all the members to speak what they think. 2. Juror #8 used facts to prove his point. For example, a witness heard the boy say I’m going to kill you to this father.
