Child observation

Michael is seven years old. Michael is playing with three other children in a severely handicapped classroom. Michael picks up a toy and asks the teacher, “Can I play.” She nods. Michael waves both hands in the air and says, “Who needs a sponge bob square pants.” Michael puts the toy behind his back and says, “I got this one.” Michael says to the teacher, “I know I have to share.” Teacher calls, “Michael it’s time to go to the restroom.” Michael pouts, turns his head and stares blankly at the teacher. “Are you sure you don’t have to use the restroom,” she replies. Michael looks to see if the teacher is watching him and goes toward the restroom.
