“The 15-1 regular season finish was on the strength of another top-ranked defense, plus offensive superstar Walter Payton,” writes John Rehling of the University of Indiana, in his article “1985 Chicago Bears.” The Bears dominated their way through the playoffs beating the New York Giants 21-0, the Los Angeles Rams 24-0, and finally winning the Super Bowl by a score of 46-10. ... A good source for playoff game details, also offering a complete roster of the 1985 Bears, the article lacked any description of the Bears regular season games. ... The twelfth and final article in the series was titled, “Papa Bear would’ve been proud of ’85 team,” written by Eddie Epstein, discusses how Chicago Bears founder George “Papa Bear” Halas would have felt about the 1985 team.
