Binge Drinking
There is a serious problem now facing the youth of our nation. Binge drinking although not limited to adolescent age men and women, is devastating local high schools and college all over our nation. Binge drinking is described as drinking five or more drinks in one frame of time. To most people, binge drinking is a self destructive and unrestrained drinking spree that lasts for a couple of days, during which the “drinker” drops all of his or her responsibilities, and engages in harmful behavior. ...
There are several reason for adolescent binge drinking. ... Lots of students are engaging in binge drinking just to have a good time, or to celebrate. To be able to consume and hold down large quantities of alcohol in a small amount of time always adds a trill and some excitement to a party, so many people fall into the chants and the drinking games. Another factor that may add to the youth setting being at such a high risk environment for binge drinking is that our youth are heavy targets for the marketing of alcoholic beverages.
