The silence throughout the library was broken by the laughter and witty remarks of Craig and Jesse, mostly. In the library there is a little seminar room beside the librarian’s office. That’s where most trouble makers worked when they were supposed to be doing something else. Somehow my courses were messed up and I didn’t have a class at the end of the day. Day after day I sit here in front of a computer doing whatever I feel like. No one looks at me, no one talks to me, no one would notice if I were there or not. On the outside people assume that I am a normal 17 year old girl. I am plain and ordinary looking on the outside and no one ever expects me to accomplish great things in my life. People know me by face, not by name. That is what hurts the most, I suppose. Rather than talk to people I have made choices where I just sit there with my mouth shut. Most often I am “the girl who never talks,” and have paid a high price because of it. On the inside I am constantly thinking about things. No one knows that I have a natural intelligence.
