The Kennewick Man Debate; Who Has The rights?
The debate abut the Kennewick man, and who has the rights to him, has been there ever since he was found back in early 1996. There are definite reasons for all sides in this debate to feel the way they do about the situation. The reason there is no real wrong or right side to this debate is because is because of all the laws past have cross-overs. These cross-overs state who has legal right to the corps. ... Throughout the case, the government has argued the requisite standing requirements were not met and therefore the scientists’ claim should be dismissed. ... This ruling has profound implications for future interpretation and enforcement of NAGPRA. ... People are baried for a reason, for example I’m sure you know someone close to you that has died.
