Tiger Woods at the age of 27 is already the most dominating player of his era in the game of golf. ... Tiger is a person who has obtained a high level of superiority across the golf world. Tiger Woods Biography
The birth of a legend took place on December 30, 1975, at Long Beach Hospital in Orange County, California. Eldrick Woods was born to the parents of Earl Woods and Kultida Punsawad. From the cradle at the hospital, Eldrick’s name was quickly changed to Tiger. The name Tiger came from a man that his father had came across and became friends with in the Vietnam War. Tiger’s ethnic background is a melting pot; his father is ½ African American, ¼ American Indian and ¼ Chinese, while his mother is ½ Tai, ¼ Chinese, and ¼ Caucasian (Ask Men). Even before Tiger was born his dad had already decided that he was going to teach and make Tiger into the best golfer of all-time. ...
Golf was a huge part of Tiger’s and his dad’s life at a very early age. Even before Tiger was able to talk he showed an interest in golf, at six months old he would watch his father golf, and then he would imitate him to perfection. Earl Woods said this when he saw his son do that, “I was flabbergasted, I almost fell out of my chair, it was the most frightening thing I had ever seen (Strege 11).” The age of two was very special to Tiger; he became a celebrity by appearing on the Michael Douglas show in a putting contest with Bob Hope, and he won his first tournament competing in the under 10 division. Before the age four had come around Tiger was already shooting a score of forty eight for nine holes. After this accomplishment you could see Tiger’s face on many different T. ... Tiger’s first tournament as a junior came at the age of six. ...
