Compare portraits of stepmothers in ¨Snow White¨ and the poem ¨The envious Heart¨ Stepmothers make a big a difference of a real mother. It is common that stepmothers don’t love their stepsons or stepdaughters as a real mother does. It isn’t the same blood, and most of the times there is not a good relationship between stepmothers and stepdaughters or stepsons. The story ¨Snow White¨ is based on a wicked stepmother whose feelings through her stepdaughter ¨Snow White¨ are totally involved with vanity. The story starts in the middle of the winter. The real mother of this pretty girl Snow White died when she was born. After a year had gone. The king, father of Snow White find another wife, a beautiful woman. This woman could not see anyone prettier than her. This wicked queen had a magic looking glass, and she used to stand before it and say ¨looking glass upon the wall, who is the fairest of us all¨ And the looking glass would answer ¨ You are the fairest of them all¨. With the pass of time Snow White was prettier and prettier. She was now prettier than the queen herself. So one day when the queen went to her mirror and said ¨Looking glass upon the wall, who is the fairest of us all? and the mirror answered ¨Queen you are full fair But Snow White is fairer than you¨. This is the one of the most important points of the story to me, because from this moment on the queen is in great shock, jealous and full of envy, and from now on the wicked queen started to hate Snow White and began to think different strategies to get rid of her.
