An Achievement in History The industrial revolution has changed the face of the earth and has completely transformed the lifestyle of people. The development in the society, brought by means of several new inventions, has brought numerous benefits to man. The benefit and rewards of the Industrial revolution were not limited to England or the United States, who were the pioneers of the Industrial revolution, but in time spanned the world. The enclosure movement tried to make farming more efficient; by having wealthy landowners farm more amount of land. This forced the peasant farmers off the land. Needing a place to live and a source of income to feed their family, they moved to the cities, and formed a very large workforce. Many of these people found jobs at one of the new factories that had started up. Here they worked as labourers, operating one of the new machines that were invented to make production faster. These machines can do the work of several people, with most of their energy coming from steam produced by burning coal. With all these new machines using coal, there was a great demand for coal.
