How much would you pay for a college education? A college degree, a bright future, and the joyous moment you have when you graduated can all be taken away because of insufficient funds to pay for it all. Loans, grants, financial aid, and scholarships are all different ways to pay for college; but most of the time these options do not pay for your entire college tuition. Getting a job might be a way to help and pay for our tuition; it is hard to find a job that pays enough for us pay for college. What can we do to help stop this problem? My proposal entails that taxing money from casino earnings and allocating those funds into the educational system will help dwindle the cost of tuition. As of now we do not tax Indian casinos; but we should put a stop to this because they are the ones not paying taxes and also the ones that are making a great deal of money. It was a California state issue, but it represents the national issue as well. California faces major budget gaps, but American Indians, who are making hundreds of millions in casino profits, are not required to pay state taxes. Some argue that it is not fair; Native American leaders say they have paid enough. By taxing Indian casinos and their revenue will help cut the debt in our budget by reducing the educational systems budget. Hopefully we could all look forward to brighter futures with lower costs. The number one reason people do not go to college is because they do not have the sufficient funds to pay for their tuition.
