death is not a reason to not love

From the Wing Seraphs in Heaven Came A Love Better Than We
As the heavens glowered down upon their keen love, as the kingdom seemed to become paler and fade, as his maiden embarked on her journey to death, and as his world seemed to as it would end, the speaker of Edgar Allan Poes "Annabel Lee" strengthens his forever-living compassion for his mistress, his maiden, his love. The dream of his magical kingdom all seems as if it will soon have to drift away after the death of his love, but he keeps it all alive and makes it seem as if it is more of a reality then it ever was. ...
Poe wrote "Annabel Lee" after the love of his life died. The poem resembles the circumstances surrounding Virginias death in many ways. She lived with no other thought than to love and be loved by her companion as said in line 6, "Than to love and be loved by me" (6). ...
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-" (25-27)
Here Poe describes her death as a wind that came blowing out of a cloud, killing his Annabel Lee. This did not stop his love for her though, as it were stronger than any other love he had ever had or anyone could ever have. Throughout the rest of his life, not a day went by without bringing him dreams of his Annabel Lee. ...
One of the most admirable parts of the poem is Poes theatrical use of symbolic imagery that makes it seem as if it is a song and not a poem. ... In fairy-tales, love is usually heavenly and blissful and to explain this Poe wrote, "With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven" (11).
