Catalysts and Rates of Reaction
Pam Zehrer Lab
Date 11-4-03
Lab Partners:
Megan Spina and
Two Classmates
The Object of this lab was to have a “hands on” experience with chemical reactions. ...
Part 1 Concentration and Rates of Reaction
Rates of chemical reactions increase with increasing concentrations of reactants. ... Each reaction was timed from the initial combination until the first sign of color change.
Conclusion: The higher the concentration of sodium hydrogen sulfite the shorter the reaction time. Not only was the amount of sodium hydrogen sulfite increased with each reaction, the amount of water diluting the reactant was decreased.
