Edward Said, a literary scholar who wrote a book called Orientalism in 1979, agrees with the classical definition of Orientalism: that those who write, teach, and research the Orient are Orientalists. ... Basically, this article is talking about the reality of Orientalism and whether it is a completely separate culture from the Middle East or if it is just a spin-off with no real definition, but a lot of Middle Eastern influence.
