Evaluating the U.S. Stance on Industrial Hemp
It is no myth that marijuana can be used a lot more productively than for just getting stoned. For thousands of years humans have been using hemp as a resource, and now thanks to technology that makes it possible to mass produce it, the benefits far outweigh any problems it creates. ... The U.S. ... Industrial hemp is one of the most resourceful plants in the world, and it is about time that the U.S. government revise their stance regarding it.
Hemp is the second most useful plant in the world, next to soy, and has hundreds of uses. One of it’s main advantages is with clothing, where it is much stronger and more durable than anything made out of cotton. Also, hemp requires virtually no pesticides, whereas with cotton, pesticides are mandatory. (Hemp Facts) These pesticides harm the enviornment, getting in our water and our food supplies.
Hemp also yields around 1000 gallons of methanol as an output, and methanol is currently being studied as a primary fuel for automobiles.
