Tender is the night

Tender Is The Night: Throughout F.Scott Fitzgerald's novel Tender is the Night there are three different perspectives shown to express the characters' thoughts and outlooks upon the plot of the novel. These perspectives are separated into Book 1, Book 2 and Book 3. Each perspective further demonstrated the need for independence. Fitzgerald wrote his novel in books to advance the reader’s knowledge towards each characters way of interrupting the plot. He begins Book 1 with the most diverse perspective from the main character Rosemary. Rosemary is a young women born in America and raised in France. At the age of eighteen she models the average young and ignorant teen. She falls in love with several men throughout the story. Apart from her ignorance on the subject love, she is a successful film maker and does show to be a very financially independent young women. Her journey starts off when she moves to France and meets a man named Dick Diver that will take her on a emotionally ride. This man is one that is married , yet finds her appealing. This triggers her infatuation with him and leads her into a situation that she simply knows nothing about. As Book 1 starts to get interesting we find out more and more about the Divers relationship......at the moment the Divers represented externally the exact furthermost evolution of class, so that most people seemed awkward beside them– in reality a qualitative change had already set in that was not at all apparent to Rosemary (21-22) The Divers were not exactly the couple they wanted everyone to think, but Rosemary could not see through her adoration with Dick to see their problems, instead she goes on to make things worse for the Divers by having an affair with Dick and then further messing with his head by also sleeping with his friend, this indicates that she is not able to be alone.
