Describe an idea that interested you in the text. Explain why this idea interested you. In the true story "Falling Leaves" by Adeline Yen Mah, an idea which was interesting and very inportant, was the theme of rejection, shown throughtout this book, rejection interested me because i never thought such resentment towards your own flesh and blood could occur. Two characters sufferedt tremendously from rejection, Adeline and Susan. botth suffered from bullying by their older siblings and recieved no interest from thir parents. Adeline suffered the most by sent away to boarding houses so the parents did not have to see her. The bullying ADeline suffered from started at a very young age of approxiamently 4 years old. All thought childhood she was fightened and alone. Lydia loved to show her authority over her little sister and consitently picked on Adeline. "Lydia would then give me a resounding slap with her powerful right hand and call me stupid." Lydia was Adelines only sister and the rejection she recieved from her was heart-blowing, as she was the closest thing Adeline had to a mother.
