Throughout the 20th century, many political and economical philosophies have been seen in countries. Some of these ideals became forms of government, yet very often caused economic unrest and sometimes war, while still others very often stimulated the economy and prevent war. Three prominent “isms” or philosophies that helped mold and shape lives, are Democracy, Nazism, and Communism. Each hold their own set of beliefs and regulations and have affected the countries they were controlled by. Democracy is most often associated with the United States government because it is probably the best example of the system. The definition of Democracy is a government controlled by its citizens either directly or through representatives.
