On January 1st 2002, Euro cash was introduced in twelve countries in the European Union. ...
The Euro currency is a subject that I have been caught in two minds for a while. ... The rate of the pound is quite near the Euro and is far more understandable and easy to convert than the Italian Lire, which has no similarity whatsoever. Another advantage to us in the United Kingdom is that the currency has the same layout, for example it has one hundred cents to the Euro; just like the pound. Some more benefits of the Euro are that almost wherever you go in the European Union, you only need one currency, making travel very east for everyone. ... The final benefit of the Euro is that it will eventually ‘cut out the middle-man’ if travelling to any of the twelve countries gaining the Euro, for example, bureau de changes and banks will not have to change currency.
