Lesson Plan on releigion

Overview: The primary focus of this project will be on religious freedom. Although it may be a sensitive subject, it is also critical in understanding the rights as Americans. The atmosphere should be safe for all students so that they would be able to express themselves freely without any type of persecution. Each student will be able to express his/her opinion with a certain guideline to follow for each student. This will show the appropriate and inappropriate behaviors that one might act out on.. When this activity comes to a close, I will hope that each student will gain knowledge and have an acceptance for all religions. My idea of acceptance is that all of my students will gain some knowledge of each main religion which I would teach. Materials: Pencil Markers Posterboard Computer with Internet use Books on particular religion Ahead of Time Knowledge: The teacher should pick groups preferable 3-4 - Groups must be put together so that diversity is present Ex) race, sex, religion, and etc. - Hopefully this material will be all new for the students. The intention is that the students will learn from each other. Creating Interest: To gain the attention of all the students is to give a broad overview of the major religions including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and anything else which might spark attention.
